Anh Luu, a New Orleans chef, walks the aisle of Golden City Asian market located in Metairie searching for produce for a private dinner she is cooking next week. She cooks Viet-Cajun food, and says "it represents me as a person".

Anh Luu helps serve customers at her friend's gelato stall at Gretna music festival. The festival attracts thousands of people a year and comprises local food vendors, music acts, art, and cultural performances. It is a great oppertunity for vendors and Anh is helping a friend with her stall. She says, "You have to work together to make a living in this industry here."

Anh Luu poses for a photo in her home with her partner Sam and her two dogs Mac and April. Sam came with Anh Luu from Oregon to New Orleans when she decided to return from Oregon in 2020.

In Anh Luu's home, she holds a family picture of her mother and father in front of the store her father used to own. In 2005, her father's store was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and her family were displaced. They then moved to Oregon.

Chefs work and rest behind the stalls in the Asian food section of Gretna festival on October 5th. For many working the festival is a family affair.
