Rayna Carruthers is a photojournalist and writer from Scotland reporting on gender, displacement, and social movements across Europe and the Middle East. ‍Her work has been published internationally. ‍

Rayna's previous visual narratives have focused on stories of forced displacement in the UK, the Middle East and South Asia. From 2022-2023 she lived in Jordan and completed a long term photographic project showing how prolonged displacement affects women and family life. She is passionate about documenting stories that bridge communities across borders.

Rayna speaks English, Arabic and conversational Spanish. She completed HEAT training in April 2026 which included trauma first aid training
