A makeshift camp, there is no water, electricity or plumbing in the camp. Residents came together to create an outside shower and toilet.
Fatme pours water into a small plastic bottle, which she will place inside the freezer container her husband brought to their tent. The container is used to store cold drinks — not just for their own family, but for others living in the camp as well.
Samira, cooks for the entire camp Mansaf with donated meat and rice gathered from people in the camp. Many of those displaced are without work and have little money relying on the kindness of their neighbours or aid for support.

In their tent, Fatme and Jamal care for their neighbour’s young son. The extreme heat has left the boy severely distressed: hours of nonstop crying and violent coughing have increased the pressure on his abdomen so much that his belly button has protruded outward.

2026The war between Israel and Hezbollah displaced more than 1 million people internally. Some stayed in shelters, while others sought temporary housing by renting apartments or staying with friends. Those left with no other options camped along Beirut’s waterfront until they were able to return home to southern Lebanon or Dahiyeh.
